Sunday Afternoon Joy Ride

Grandad took Ben on his first ride in the convertible. When my dad took the top down Ben said "I've never seen it change before!" He told me they went really FAST...

But he got a little annoyed with me taking so many pictures. He's getting too cool for mom to snap so many pics. Well, I say too bad!!

Swimming Lessons-

It's hard to get good photos, but Ben started swim lessons last week. He LOVES them and told me he wants a trophy... hmm.

4-year Doctor visit

Today was Ben's 4-year well visit to his pediatrician. He's 38-1/2 pounds and 41-1/2 inches tall. I think we made quite the impression today - Ben's fingernails were filthy (from playing in the driveway before our appointment - of course I didn't notice until we got there), he had pink and blue ink stamps all over his arms / hands / legs / feet (a present in his Easter basket), his underwear were on backwards and he called his doctor a "silly sausage*." Thankfully our ped. has a great sense of humor and said Ben was in perfect health and a great, funny kid - phew!

*In Ben's defense we had been talking about the alphabet. His doctor's last name starts with an "S" so we were listing "S" words... strawberries, sausage, shoes, silly, sun, etc. But it was a little embarrassing not having the doctor know the whole story...

ABCs

We LOVE drawing with sidewalk chalk on the driveway! There's something I love about the impermanence of chalk and Ben's crazy graffiti drawings. BUT the other night when he wrote the entire alphabet in a straight line on his own I just had to take a pic. Pretty cool! The other photo is of his rocket ship going to space - complete with stars, planets and aliens.

Spring Break and Yoga-

Uncle and Auntie had last week off... we TRIED to head to the zoo with them, but everyone in STL had the same idea... so we went to City Garden instead. Here is Ben and Maggie on the bunny for their Easter photo. He tried his best to hold onto her tightly.

Also, while we were there we had a surprise visit from Bubba (her office is down the street). Ben was SO SURPRISED to see her, it was such a special treat.... wish I would've gotten a picture, but it was great.

We borrowed Wii Fit from Bubba and Grampy and have been having a lot of fun with it. Here's Ben's take on tree pose. He sees me do yoga all the time (and tries poses sometimes, but usually loses interest pretty quickly) so this is a little more his speed.

AND... no more Pull-Ups in our house!! Ben has been dry all night for several weeks so he went to bed in underwear last night without a problem. Ahhh, it will feel amazing not to buy Pull-Ups anymore. Yippie!!!!

Lego Star Wars-

I overheard today while Ben was playing Wii... and it really made me laugh.

"I'm C-P Creepio!"

"How do I get to R-D-D-T-O?"
