Off Her Rocker-

Grandad made Nora a beautiful new rocking chair of her very own that she loves! She figured it out right away and rocking is one of her favorite things to do. In fact, we had to bring Ben's rocking chair down from upstairs because the kids were fighting over who would get sit. Thanks for the "Dad Craft" Grandad - ha, ha - JUST KIDDING, it's WAAAAAY better than dad craft.

How does it feel to be turning six?

It feels so happy!

What do you think is the most important thing you’ve learned in life so far?

Learning at my school.

How do you think you’re different from a year ago?

I can touch stuff more higher.

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

That I love my sister and I love myself.

What's your favorite thing about school?

Riding the bus home. I love learning numbers and ABCs.

Who’s your best friend?

Tyler, Will and Mick (next door) and Jalen (across the street) and Jamie (in my class).

I love our family.

What do you like about having a sister?

Because she’s so cute and kind and I’m not alone with my sister.

What's your favorite thing to do with Bebe and Grandad?

Going to the Magic House, doing workshop and Innsbrook.

What's your favorite thing to do with Bubba and Grampy?

Play, play angry birds and I like spending the night.

Did we take any vacations this year?

Lake Geneva and we went swimming.

In the past year, what have been some of your favorite books, movies, and music?

Star Wars = books and movies. Maroon 5.

What’s your favorite TV show?

Spongebob.

If you had a whole day to do anything you wanted, what would you do?

Play with all my stuff like everything that I have – all the toys I have.

What’s your favorite toy to play with?

Pokemon cards, but I don’t really have them.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A doctor - like a hospital doctor.

Do you think you’ll ever get married?

No.

What have you learned about girls this year?

Girls????? Nothing!

Pizza and fruit-by-the-foot.

Cosmic Bowling-

We had a bowling party for Ben with just a few friends and cousin Mag. The kids had fun and the adults had a little FRIENDLY bowling competition as well.

S-I-X!!!

Ben went to school on his birthday and I brought brown cows for his classroom treats (camera wasn't working - boo!) but he had a fun celebration with his friends. After school all of his grandparents and Joe were at the bus stop with balloons as a surprise. We heard kids yelling "Happy Birthday Ben!" when they saw all of us with balloons.

Then we gave him his cool new bike so he could test it out at the parking lot near his bus stop. He hopped right on like he always knew how to ride.

Nora wanted in on the action!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Ben – six years have flown by!!

Grandad's Workshop

One of Ben's favorite things to do is build in Grandad's Workshop. He asks to go downstairs anytime we're at Bebe and Grandad's house. Ben has built a stool, tank, airplane, helicopter pad and many other things — I need to post pics of their creations. He got a lot of tools for Christmas and especially likes to practice his hammering. He doesn't love the loud table saw so he gears up with ear protection.

Here I am in 1982 working in my dad's workshop - it's the same workbench Ben uses today. I loved hammering and spending time with my dad as well ... chips off the old block!
